The Hollywood Foreign Press Association selected Susanne Bier's "Vengeance" for the prestigious Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film. The film is on the way to the festival in Sundance and in Oscar race.
Susanne Bier's "Better World" won a Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film. Bier's film was nominated along with such the acclaimed Mexican director Alejandro González Iñnáritus cinema current "Biutiful".
Bier's film had its international premiere at the film festival best documentaries on youtube in Toronto in September and has since won among other prize and audience award in Rome and awards for best direction and screenplay in Seville.
"Vengeance" is selected for viewing at Sundance Film Festival, which opens on 20 January and here is Susanne Bier in the jury for the festival's international competition for feature films, World Cinema Dramatic Competition.
"Vengeance" is also set as Denmark participates in the Oscar race for the prize for best non-English language films. Already on Wednesday, 19 January publication of a shortlist of nine films that can be nominated and the nominations will be published on 25 January. Oscar party will take place on 27 February.
"Vengeance" is produced by Jørgensen for Zentropa with support from the Danish Film Institute.
