Launched by Deputy Mayor of Galway City, Cllr Frank Fahy new structure Gradam at 'Christmas Reunions' Friends of Gaillimh le Gaeilge held recently in the Hotel Meyrick, Eyre Square, oscars mortuary Galway. A shortlist will be selected from the four categories and the overall winner will be chosen Gradam from the four category winners. To support the new structure, Fáilte Ireland and D'Arcy Marketing & PR has come on board as a new sponsor of the Awards for 2012. In addition, Údarás na Gaeltachta is sponsoring the replica for the Award for two additional years. The replica will be awarded to the winners of the four categories and these are specially designed by the famous artist Padraic Reaney.
