Last year the jury decided that the Pulitzer Prize for fiction will not be granted because they concluded pmpc star awards that no text deserves the award. However, this year things' return to their normal prize for fiction was won by Adam Johnson (pictured) for The Orphan Master's Son.
The book follows a young man's journey through the icy waters, dark tunnels, and eerie rooms of the world's most mysterious dictatorship, North Korea. The two volumes come at a time when relations between the U.S. and North Korea are not exactly peaceful, so that certainly will cause a lot of people read them. Adam Johnson teaches creative writing at Stanford University. Fiction has appeared in "Esquire", "The Paris Review", "Harper's" and "Tin House" as well as "Best New American Voices." The Orphan Master's Son by Adam Johnson (Random House) is a wonderful novel designed, which takes the reader on a journey into the depths adventurous totalitarian North Korea in the most intimate corners of the human heart.
