- Despite the fact that Pixar

Tradition, the Golden Globe ceremony held again this year, where the best in film and television from the past year was hailed with golden statuettes, as tradition the attribute it. Many compare 2011 academy awards this award show with Oscar ceremony, and it is in many ways a good indicator of which films that end up being nominated for an Academy Award. At the Golden Globe Awards, it is not the film industry who nominates and selects winners, as it is with the Oscars, but rather an organization composed of journalists affiliated with media outside the U.S. - more specifically, The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (or just HFPA). It is therefore far from assured that this is exactly the same movie that ends up being nominated, as it is two completely different groups of people. Consider, for instance. hardly imagine that films like Burlesque, The Tourist and Red (as the HFPA quite controversial nominees in the category Best Film - Comedy or Musical) will be nominated for an Oscar. At least not in any of the "major categories". But it's probably not supposed to have to take the Golden Globes too seriously, because as Warren Beatty rightly once said: "The Golden Globes are fun. The Oscars are business."
Net distribution bore no signs of so many surprises, besides the happy Danish victory of course. The Social Network won as expected in the Picture, Director, Screenplay and Score categories, while Natalie Portman and Colin Firth respectively 2011 academy awards from Black Swan and The King's Speech took the prize for the female and male lead in a drama. In Supporting Role-categories won Christian Bale and Melissa Leo (both from The Fighter) and just the two works currently to have a hand in their own Oscar now. At present, there is thus some clear favorites in the Oscar race. But even if the film wins big at the Golden Globes is not always the movies that win big at the Academy, 2011 academy awards I predict that they still are relatively agreed this year. Buzzen about The Social 2011 academy awards Network will never end, and it is bound to do not to any time soon. The combination of an extremely well-written script, a unique instruction of cult director 2011 academy awards David Fincher, and an enthusiastic ensemble performance of the actors, 2011 academy awards has made it one of the most beloved films from 2010. The only film that has more goodwill than The Social Network at the moment 2011 academy awards except maybe Toy Story 3, but it is (unfortunately) unrealistic that it's going to win anything other than best animated film. But is there not something to throw dice for? Coming Fincher and co. to nabbed the shelf with gold statuettes? Possibly, but you never say never. Stranger things have happened in Oscar-context. First and foremost, we just need nominations ready. They come on Tuesday 25 January and if I know the academy right, then they probably have a few surprises up its sleeve. At this writing see my predictions for the 10 nominees in the category for best film as follows: 1 The Social Network
- Has gained much momentum here in the past, especially due to the phenomenal performances. If a surprise was to take place, it could very well be The Fighter standing behind. Could it be a new Rocky? 3 Black Swan
- Aronofsky's most Oscar-friendly 2011 academy awards film to date. Natalie Portman might as well write the acceptance speech now. The only thing that could potentially take it from her is Annette Bening for The Kids Are All Right. 4 The King's Speech - At one time, The King's Speech front-runner and it's not hard to understand when you see the movie. Colin Firth proves that he is not a one-hit-wonder and it will be hard if he does not win for Best Actor. 5 Toy Story 3
- Despite the fact that Pixar's latest masterpiece has received universally good reviews and occupies the second place on my personal list of 2010's best films, it seems unfortunately not to the Academy is ready to give an animated film the big price. A nomination is in place. 6 Inception
- Christopher Nolan's Inception was impressive on many levels. Besides it served as a classic summer blockbuster movie, it also has been shown to be true in the crucial award shows. Nolan is not going to tilt Fincher of the stick, but watch out for Best Original Screenplay category. Here he could very well get his first Oscar. 7 127 Hours - James Franco, as you know, will host this year's award along with Anne Hathaway, 2011 academy awards is excellent in this life-affirming story of man's indomitable will to survive. It is not a new Slumdog 2011 academy awards Millionaire Danny Boyle as well also made, but a place among the top ten has undoubtedly deserved. 8 True Grit - I definitely do not like True Grit was just as good as the Coen brothers' previous film No Country for Old Men, but he had many bright spots. As example. Hailee Steinfeld that completely stole the spotlight from himself, Jeff Bridges. And it's still quite an achievement. 2011 academy awards 9
